The short version

Your journal lives on your device. We never see it. There is no account.

What stays on your device

Everything you write in the app: your Done states, if-then plans, milestones, sprints and log entries. It is stored in your browser's local storage on your device. We have no copy and cannot read it. If you clear your browser data or delete the app, it is gone unless you exported it.

What we collect

• Anonymous counters. When you open a page or tap a button, your browser can send us an event name (for example "pageview" or "activated") and the page path. We count these per day. No cookies, no IDs, no IP addresses stored, and never anything you write.
• Future photo counts. The number of future photos made per day, with no photo, face data or identity attached.
• Your email, only if you join the founding list. We use it to email you when Pro opens. We never sell or share it. Ask us to delete it any time.
• Cloudflare Web Analytics. Our host counts visits without cookies or fingerprinting, so we can see which pages people read.
• Rate limiting. To stop abuse of the founding list form we keep a one-way hash of your IP address and a counter for the current hour. An hourly cleanup deletes them.

Future photo (optional)

If you choose to create a future photo, you first confirm that the photo is of you and that you are 18 or older, and you authorize us to process it. The app then shrinks your photo on your device, removes its metadata, and sends it once, over an encrypted connection, to our server on Cloudflare. The server passes it to Cloudflare Workers AI (the FLUX.2 model) together with the scene you picked, returns the generated picture, and keeps nothing: we do not store your photo or the result, we do not log them, we do not create or keep any face template or facial geometry, and they are not used to train any AI model. The generated picture is saved only on your device. It leaves your device only if you tap Share. To limit abuse we count future photos per day using a one-way hash of your IP address, deleted after that day. You can delete a future photo in the app at any time.

Other AI features

AI writing features are not switched on yet. When they are, they will be opt-in each time, only the words you choose to send will be sent, they will not be stored by us or used to train any model, and we will update this page first.

Hosting

The sites and app are served by Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes standard request data (such as IP address) to deliver and protect the service, under its own privacy policy.

Your choices

Export or delete your journal in the app under Settings. To delete your email from the founding list, write to hello@startfromdone.com.

Children

Start From Done is not directed to children under 13.
